Carey Powell is a certified and credentialed coach with a passion for do-it-yourself PR. After graduating from coaching school, Carey spent several years honing her coaching skills as a general life coach focused on helping clients overcome fear in order to achieve their dreams. During this time, Carey searched for ways to share her coaching services and events on a broader scale. Traditional advertising had provided very little return. So Carey began researching the wide world of PR. She knew there was no way she could afford a PR firm and wasn’t sure she was ready for one anyway. So she researched, researched, then researched some more.
Finally, feeling armed with the basics, Carey began her own “do-it-yourself” PR campaign. Within days, Carey began receiving calls and emails from newspaper reporters and television producers interested in learning more. Within just a few short weeks, Carey gave her first television interview and the rest is history!
Since that time, Carey’s clients and colleagues have coined her “The PR Magnet” because she seems to have a natural ability to attract media attention for herself and others (she even landed herself on the Ellen Degeneres Show by accident, and Ellen featured the clip on her “favorite moments” reel on the 1,000th episode special!)
After about a year of consistently generating phenomenal media coverage for her business, as well as for her clients and colleagues, Carey realized her passion was helping other entrepreneurs learn how to do the same.
